About
Curtis Milne. Oct.27th 1984, Calgary, AB, Canada.
Middle child of three boys. Growing up life was active with plenty of brotherly competitions. I am grateful for the curiosity and sense of adventure my parents instilled in us at a young age. This came from well connected and interdependent extended family and network of friends. This plays into my current life hosting a solid network of long lasting relationships with friends and family. A lot of camping trips, hikes, bike rides, summer vacations, trips to the ski hill and sleep overs. I was encouraged to try new things and be curious about my environment. It wasn't until the winter of 2009 where I spent 2 years living in Nelson BC, snowboarding. My first year I hit 104 days of snowboarding...this was the year I found photography. I was passionate about my surroundings and new I could see details that were not often exposed.
For some reason, I'm drawn to ambiguity. To find what hasn't yet been seen. Different ways of framing subjects. At times, the more candid it is, the better the photo - in my opinion. Its the imperfection that makes things beautiful. It took me my entire life to realize this. The aged and wise, the old and forgotten, the moment that reveals another layer. This is what i strive for when I'm behind the lens.
